Asynchronous work 5/6
Today we explored developmentally appropriate practices. This allows us to begin to understand what students at different ages should be able to accomplish and how long we might be able to keep each group focused. This information can help inform us, as teachers, to better engage all of our young learners.
Go through the lessons HERE
We discussed the summer curriculum that you taught last year and what curriculum you would like to see implemented going forward.
The homework for this week is to review some of last year's curriculum and to come up with two lessons that you feel would be age-appropriate for the groups that you serve. Remember to include an objective, materials, and some key vocabulary words for your slides. Use the current curriculum slides as a template for your new lessons.
During this class we wrapped up by talking about our own stem and cultural identity and how it will impact how teach. We went on to talk about being a leader and how this is the next evolution of our teaching.
Please reach us at ttodd@andrew.cmu.edu and kagarret@andrew.cmu.edu if you cannot find an answer to your question.
