Your Homework is...

  • Introduced ourselves and talked about our experiences last year
  • Reviewed last years curriculum. Specifically we talked about:
    • Helping to create a culture of learning in our classrooms where students can develop stem identity and we can help them stay in the zone of proximal development.
    • How the journey inside our classroom is sometimes messy but that we can model the behaviors we want to see, help our students have learner agency, and be good mentors in order to create a positive experience for our students.
    • Classroom management and that it’s important to stay consistent, connected, and compassionate with our students because you never know what your students may be going through

Today we explored developmentally appropriate practices. This allows us to begin to understand what students at different ages should be able to accomplish and how long we might be able to keep each group focused. This information can help inform us, as teachers, to better engage all of our young learners.
